Water Damage Restoration

Extraction, mitigation, structural drying and documentation.

A water loss is a timeline. What happens in the first hours decides how much material can be dried and saved, and how much has to be removed. Home Remedies responds to water intrusion by finding the source first, then measuring how far the water traveled, then drying the structure back to a documented dry standard.

Extraction and mitigation

Standing water is removed with extraction equipment sized to the loss, and saturated contents and materials are handled before secondary damage spreads into adjacent assemblies.

  • Emergency water extraction from flooring, subfloor and cavity spaces
  • Content manipulation and protection of unaffected areas
  • Temporary containment where dust or cross-contamination is a concern
  • Stabilization of the water source where it is within our scope, or coordination with the appropriate trade

Moisture mapping

Water rarely stops where it is visible. We use moisture meters and thermal observation to map the actual wet footprint — under cabinets, behind base, into wall cavities, along framing — and we record those readings so progress can be measured rather than guessed.

  • Documented initial moisture readings with material and location noted
  • Affected-area sketch or map showing the wet footprint
  • Daily readings tracked through the drying period

Structural drying

Drying equipment is placed according to the size of the affected area and the materials involved, then adjusted as readings change. Equipment stays until the documented drying goal is reached, not until the surface feels dry.

  • Air movement and dehumidification sized to the affected space
  • Specialty drying for hardwood, cavity and under-floor assemblies where appropriate
  • Daily monitoring with written progress records

Selective demolition

When a material cannot be dried in place or is no longer structurally or hygienically sound, it is removed in a controlled, documented way — cut lines kept clean, debris bagged and removed, and the scope recorded before and after.

Documentation

Every water loss we handle is documented as if it will be reviewed later, because it often is. Photos, readings, maps, scope and completion records are organized into one package for the property owner and, when applicable, their insurance representative.
